Photograph of a view down the runway of Clover Field in Santa Monica, [s.d.]. At center, a long dirt road extends from the left foreground to the right distance. Eucalyptus trees line it in the background, beyond which open field can be seen. Writing at the bottom of the image reads: "Municipal. Altitude 200 feet. 12 miles west of Los Angeles. Field 2600x2600, 173 acres. Fairly level. Wind SW. Some fog. Oceans 3 miles west of Sawtelle, 1 mile north. Most active field in district Air corps maintain training schedules and there are a number of regular airplane companies leasing quarters and hangar space. Fringe of eucalyptus trees on north side now removed as shown in photograph".
