Photograph article dated April 11, 1950 reads, "New office quarters of the 9079th Volunteer Air Force Training group are open today under the direction of Capt. Edward F. Pesik, USAF, at 3905 Empire Ave., Burbank. Captain Pesik said the office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as contact quarters for Valley Air Force reservists and that emphasis will be placed on recruiting of ex-Valley Air Force men. Command officer of the 9079th group is Lt. Col. Frank Owens of Van Nuys. Captain Pesik was transferred to the Valley from Portland Airport, Portland, Ore. He resides at 8150 Burnett Ave., Van Nuys, with his wife and two children. Assisting him in his new duties is Tech. Sgt. Harry W. Cole, transferred from Hamilton Field Air Force Base."
