Description
Photograph of volunteers working to complete the renovation and remodeling of a house which will house the San Fernando Valley Development Center. "Looks like fun -- Actually, it is fun for these carpenters and roofers even though they're not being paid. They, like many others, are volunteering their services to complete the renovation and remodeling of a house located at 14651 Tutus Street, Panorama City. When it is completed, the structure will house the San Fernando Valley Development Center operated by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Los Angeles County. Cerebral palsied children between the ages of 3 and 16 will soon be able to receive the special care and treatment they need at this new UCP facility -- thanks to the generocity [sic] of many public spirited firms and individuals in the San Fernando Valley who have contributed toward this volunteer community projects" -- typed note attached to verso. Verso dated, "January 2, 1956". "United Cerebral Palsy Assn. / 5201 Beverly Blvd. / Los Angeles 4, California" -- stamped on verso. Streetscape.
