Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated May 4, 1950 reads "Used to be one piece of wood. Col. Powell displays what he calls a 'compound or multiple chain.' Original piece of wood was approximately one foot wide, two feet long and one and three-eights (sic) inches thick. Chain now stretches out over area of about three feet by two and a half feet." The article partially reads "Perpetrator of these wooden fantasies: A. E.
