Description
Photograph of Main Street looking north from Second Street (east and west side of street), December 1, 1932. Many automobiles can be seen driving or parked on Main street. Both sides of the street are lined with buildings, at most, three stories high. Male and female pedestrians can be seen walking on the sidewalks and crossing the street. A network of streetcar electric wires can be seen suspended above the street, and streetcar tracks can be seen embedded within the street itself.
Legible signs read: "Money to loan", " "California", "Pool", "Sporting Goods", "Rooms. Beds", "Second and Main Buffet", "Oferta especial gratis O.K. Tuey herbalista", "[Chin]ese Herbs", "Hotel Yorke, beds 25c., rooms 50c., hot-cold water in every room", "Clean beds 20c.", "Dentist", "Second and Main Buffet Tacoma Brew on draught", "Tacoma Brew 5c.", "Painless methods, guaranteed materials", "Suction Plates".
Note: the lower right portion of the negative appears damaged.
