Description
V2p204a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. II, page 204 top left. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written under photo: "Liberty Loan Drive, Liberty Statue Union Square 1918." View looks southeast across Union Square. The Dewey Monument, surrounded by a crowd including a Red Cross nurse, is decorated with patriotic bunting and wrapped in a sign urging people to buy Liberty Bonds. The City of Paris is visible directly behind it. The Whittell Building is the tall structure at the left; the Sloan Building can be seen at the right.
