Photograph caption dated January 9, 1961 reads, "Angelo Corallis, 21, 6037 Hazlehurst Pl., North Hollywood, receives special blessing from the Right Rev. Bishop Demetrios, as he returns cross from the ocean at Rainbow Pier in Long Beach during Greek Orthodox Church rites commemorating the baptism of Christ. Corallis is a student at Valley College. Cross is thrown into ocean as part of annual ceremony."
