Photograph of the large crucifix and choir loft in the rear of the church of Mission San Gabriel, ca.1908. Two vases containing wild flowers are on either side of the small alter above which hangs the figure of Christ on the crucifix. Between two candles on the alter is a sign which reads "Indulgences [...] mission crosses [...]ted by the [...], granted by His Holiness Pius IX, [...] a plenary indulgence: 1 [...], 2 [...], 3 [...], 4 [...] a partial indulgence".... A picture of Christ carrying the cross hangs on an adjacent piller under the choir loft.
