Description
Photograph of two Havasupai Indian women with "Kathaks", or large conical baskets, on their backs, ca.1900. The baskets are held in place by a sling around the wearer's foread. The baskets are used for such things as carrying corn in from the field. At their feet on the ground lays a blanket with a zig-zag pattern. Behind them at left is part of a stick lean-to with a blanket or pelt on top. Several baskets lay on the ground near the structure. A field is visible behind them and behind that part of a canyon wall.
