Description
This circa 1932 postcard shows a riverboat of River Lines, Incorporated, a company that provided passenger transportation and dredging services along the Sacramento River. The company was formed out of a merger of Citizen's Navigation, Merchant's Transportation and Sacramento Transportation companies. Enjoying a large presence in Sacramento's travel plans through the first half of the twentieth-century - and due in no small part to the ebb in the demand for river travel - River Lines ceased operating in the 1970s.
