Text written under photo: "St. Mary's Van Ness Ave. & O'Farrell St." View of St. Mary's Cathedral at northwest corner of intersection, a large brick structure with a tall steeple and a grand staircase. A woman with an umbrella is standing at corner next to a triple streetlight. Two men at near corner. Photo can be dated by the Brown Bros. store at northeast corner in a brand-new building, one of the many stores that relocated temporarily to Van Ness after the fire.
