Description
A three-quarters length studio portrait of Ethel Rebecca Shorb as a young woman, with her body turned slightly to the right and her head tilted to the left. She is wearing a white dress with lace and dark ribbon decorations and a choker necklace with an oval-shaped pendant. Her straight hair is piled on top of her head.
Ethel Rebecca Shorb (1880-1959) was the fifth daughter and eighth child of James De Barth Shorb and his wife Maria de Jesus Wilson. "Vaughan and Keith ; San Francisco" printed to the lower right of the image. Date based on the years that Vaughan & Keith Photographers appeared in San Francisco directories. One of the proprietors' full names weas Hector G. Vaughan.
