Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated January 21, 1948 reads, "Griffith Park, on fringe of the Valley, welcomed two new black leopard cubs into family circle. Named Boo and Jiggs, each weighed thirty pounds as result of bottle-feeding by Zoo Keepers Lauren Wendt and Charles Allen who took over at their birth when mama leopard refused to care for them." Los Angeles Zoo is oftentimes referred to as the Griffith Park Zoo.
