Description
Photographic portrait of a large leaping tuna caught by Mrs. Phil. Omara, shown with catch, off Santa Catalina Island, September 15, 1909. She is standing to the left of her catch while holding one of its fin and her fishing rod. She is wearing a long one-piece informal dress with dark heeled shoes and a straw hat. The extremely large tuna is hanging from a hook, which is supported by a thick pole visible on the right, and it is noticeably as tall as the woman. She seems to be standing on a wooden dock and behind her a crowd of men is observable. Trees and mountains are visible in the far background.
