“Dr. & Mrs Irvine & Jeff, Ken & Tony 1942.” Group portrait of the Irvine family at their home in Chogoria. The Christmas of 1942 was the last year the family was all together as both Anthony and Geoff enlisted in the military and later Kenneth would leave to study medicine at Cape Town University. ❧ The image is from the first twenty years of the Chogoria mission in Kenya, which was run by the Rev. Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974), from the collection entitled ‘Chogoria, glimpses into the past’.
