Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated May 5, 1960 reads, "Friend in need - Young Jon Jackson, 9, nursing broken hand he received while trying to stop two boys from fighting, also has friendly pat for his pet toy Boston bulldog, Bosco. Dog walked four miles to Woodland Park Community Hospital where Jon was taken for treatment. Both boy and dog were returned home."
