Photograph caption dated October 7, 1960 reads "New roadway. Salvador Trejo, 1206 S. Central Ave., Compton, is one of the workmen on duty at site of construction of the Golden State Freeway through Sun Valley. Completion is scheduled for sometime next year. Eventual extension of the Hollywood Freeway will join the Golden State at a location just within Sun Valley boundaries.
