Description
1989-1302. In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 41. In the foreground are two triangular topped pedestals which rise slightly above a low concrete wall which borders a section of the cemetery; in the middle ground is a tall tomestone with "Booth" written low; above this part is a rectangular section with more information; above this is a section which is flanked by short pillasters and in the middle is a shield surrounded by a wreath; a top this section is a dome in 3 sections topped by an urn. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "11th Governor of Calif.Born, 1825. Died. 1892. Age 67 years. State Senator in 1862.Gov. of Cal. 1871 United State Senator in 1873.This grave directly in back of the entrance to cemetery."
