Description
Photograph of Venice oil wells, [s.d.]. The foreground features a road that recedes into the horizon on the left. Two automobiles can be seen driving away from the foreground, along the road, and one automobile can be seen driving towards the foreground. A man can be seen standing on the left-hand side of the road, in front of a two-story building. A sandy beach can be seen on the right side of the road, extending into the Pacific Ocean in the distance. At the far right, one can see what appears to be a lifeguard's tower. Many oil derricks can be seen on both the right and left sides of the road, and the central, most prominent oil derrick bears a sign that reads: "La Bara Oil Co.".
