Photograph caption dated March 2, 1961 reads, "Howard Berman, 17, 9329 Kester Ave., Van Nuys, a student at Monroe High School, receives 1961 Brotherhood Award from Harris Zeitzew, left, B'nai B'rith North Hills Lodge president, with approval of William J. Settle, Monroe principal. Berman was selected by school officials for the citation because of his achievements in scholarship, student government and student publications and his outstanding leadership qualities."
