In: [Scenes of Sacramento] [manuscript] / Eugene Walter Hepting. [Sacramento, Calif. : E. Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 16.
In foreground is a wooden fence and behind it is the horse-drawn trolley; two horses are being driven by a man who sits in the front compartment of an open trolley with a roof sheltering the compartment; behind are people in seats open on the sides with a roof above; another compartment is at the other end of the trolley; behind the trolley on the right are five large, mainly bare trees; on the extreme left bare branches intrude into the photo and in the background on the left is a single story roofed structure.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
