Photograph caption reads: "Stanley Den Adel, employe [sic] at Birmingham hospital and ex-patient there, recieves a citation of merit from Col. Thomas J. Cross, right, of the Veterans Administration, as Dr. Ernest V. Edwards, hospital manager, looks on. The paralyzed veteran was described during ceremonies yesterday as having surpassed efficiency records of able-bodied fellow workers". Photograph dated: June 6, 1947.
