Description
View from a hill down into a yard bordered by a white picket fence on the Lake Vineyard estate owned by Benjamin Davis Wilson in San Gabriel (now mainly part of San Marino, California). A dirt road leads through an opening in the gate. A large weeping willow tree stands to the right, trees and orchards in the distance.
Title derived from Watkins New Series stereo #4420. Date devised by cataloger; Watkins made two trips to Southern California, in 1877 and 1880. Though back of photo reads, "B.D. Wilson's San Marino," the San Marino estate was owned by his son-in-law J. De Barth Shorb.
