Miniature trains of the Griffith Park & Southern Railroad began running May 27, 1963, in Griffith Park. Opened in time for the summer season, the train ride exhibit features a mile-long track, an exact replica of an early 20th Century railway station, a 70-foot bridge over Lizard Creek, iron gates and an 85-foot tunnel. Trains run daily from 9:30 a.m. to dusk. The trains began operation in 1948.
