This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Regiment of French Soldiers arriving in San Francisco on their way to Siberia [sic] Russia November 1918. Marching west on Market Street." Photo taken looking northeast on Market from safety island between Kearny and Grant, where a man with a camera on a tripod is standing. Two columns of soldiers, each four abreast, are marching down the street. There are now four streetcar tracks on Market. The Monadnock, Hearst and Call buildings, and the Palace Hotel can be seen in the background.
