Photograph caption dated October 27, 1959 reads, "Tom Tryon, star of 'John Slaughter' western series on television, shows muscular dystrophy victim Tommy Weston how to handle a gun. A visit to movie set at Disney Studios and meeting with his favorite cowboy hero was an exciting event for Tommy. He is 1959 poster child chosen to represent Muscular Dystrophy Associations of America, Inc., in Los Angeles County."
