Photograph caption dated December 13, 1961 reads, "Los Angeles City Fire Department's chief engineer, William L. Miller (left), hands a bag containing the department's $100,000 contribution to AID United Givers, Inc., to AID President John R. Mage during ceremonies Monday at Fire Station No. 100, 6751 Louise Ave., Encino, Station Capt. William Sheppard adds an extra dollar to the donation, the department's largest since joining the charity program in 1957. This year city firemen were 100 percent contributors to the AID campaign."
