Pastor Julian and a boy stand in the middle of a street, the man wearing a pocketed vest, and the boy wearing a flannel shirt. The man holds in his right hand a publication from the Center for Religion and Civic Culture that has "USC" printed on the back. He has his left arm around the shoulder of the boy and his looking down at him. The boy is smiling slightly and looking out of frame. The photograph was taken at a Metro Kidz outreach in a vacant lot in the Pico Union area of Los Angeles.
