Description
"Escandes og Minaults grav" ("Escande's and Minault's graves"). Two French Protestant missionaries and pastors who were murdered by the rebels on May 21, 1897 in Ambatondradama and thus became martyrs. Johannes Einrem is standing beside the graves. See also A02Ma/111, A06/413 and A13Ma/583. Johannes Einrem was a missionary in Madagascar from 1893-1933. He first married Petra Alvilde Sofie 1875-1927, maiden name Nygaard, in Fihasinana, Madagascar on January 9, 1894. On December 15, 1928, in Antsirabe, he married Trine Christiane 1889-1957, a missionary in Madagascar from 1916-1933. Her maiden name was Müller.
