Description
A woman and a man wait at the railroad station. A Western Union Telegraph and Cable Office is located at this station. Lawrence Station was named after Alfred C. Lawrence, who, in 1863, gave right-of-way through his land to the San Francisco and San Jose Railroad Company.

Master images scanned at 300 dpi and scaled to 6000 pixels on the longest side. Bit depth: grayscale at 8-bit; color at 24-bit. Images compressed to 800 pixels across the long dimension and to JPEG format. Scanning outsourced to Luna Imaging Inc. as part of an LSTA Grant funded by the California State Library in 2003-2004. Scanning hardware is unknown.
