Description
The Āsanagahara is the shrine of the Buddha's seat, which is the earliest aniconic form of reverence for the Buddha, representing the seat of the Buddha at the time of his Enlightenment. Also found here are several Buddhapāda - another stage of the aniconic representation of the Buddha prior to the construction of Buddha images.
