Honored for Excellence in Teaching: These are the eight University of Southern California professors who received the second annual USC Awards for Excellence in Teaching at a dinner given by USC Associates Wednesday night at the Beverly Hilton. Chosen by graduating students from among more than 360 nominees, each professor received $1,000 as tangible recognition of the importance of the teaching profession and the respect and acclaim it deserves. In the foreground (left) is Dr. Frank Baxter, professor of English, authoritty on Shakespeare, and winner of seven Emmys. Dr. Baxter, who has been at USC for 31 years, is retiring this year. On the right is Dr. Herman Harvey, associate professor of psychology. The others are (left to right): David W. Martin, associate professor of education Morris M. Mautner, associate professor of business and industrial management Kennett (correct) Moritz, assistant professor of English John D.
