"2004---Spanish Town, Los Angeles, California," stereoview, published by Continent Stereoscopic Company, New York, USA, circa 1878. The views shows the Sonoratown area of the town, north of the Plaza with the view taken looking north to northwest towards the Elysian Park area of the modern city. In the foreground is an adobe building with a redwood section replacing part of the structure. Dwellings and what may be part of the Sisters of Charity school are also in view. On the reverse is an advertisement for a book that appeared in 1878, hence the date. With much soliling, some stains, and edge wear to the mount, the condition is fair.
