Image shows group portrait in doorway of the auditorium at Malaga Cove School, located at 385 Via Almar in Malaga Cove, with the second annual Colonial Ball, hosted by the Palos Verdes Woman's Club. Visible are fourteen men and women, dressed in eighteenth-century costumes, identified (left to right) as: 1. Grace Kincaid; 2. Charles Wasserman; 3. Frances Cheney (later Mrs. Sasman); 4. Irmadelle Rous; 5. Miss de Runtz; 6. Richard Sias; 7. Cora Belle Cheney (wife of Charles H. Cheney); 8. Charles H. Cheney (1884-1943, city planner of Palos Verdes); 9. Bess Schellenberg (wife of Francis Foster, building contractor); 10. William Sutherland; 11. Romayne Martin (1889-1991, wife of Farnham Martin, Superintendent of Parks, Palos Verdes Estates); 12. Mrs. Ellis Yarnell; 13. Ivan Ihm; and 14. Mrs. Ivan Ihm. Approximately 140 guests attended the ball in the auditorium, which was decorated with candlelight and cut tree branches. Malaga Cove School, designed by the architectural film of Allison & Allison, opened on April 5, 1926.
