Description
This is a photograph of "Mr. Joseph Lau, one of our catechists, carrying Father Lavin across the stream."
Born in Massachusetts, Fr. Lavin came to Maryknoll in 1924 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1932. He was assigned to Kongmoon, South China that same year. He was taken by the communists but released in 1953. In 1954 he was assigned to Hawaii and also did promotion work in the United States including work in the Chicago, Illinois Chinese mission.
