Photograph of a small outboard boat, the Edith, stranded on a sandbar in the Colorado River, ca.1900. The boat is owned by George Wharton James. Trunks and other possessions are stacked in the bow. An oar lays across the gunwales. An anchor tied to a rope, tied to a large stone sits on the bench in the stern. The far shore is visible in the distance (blurred).
