Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Mission San Juan Bautista, before 1875. A man stands with a walking stick at center, wearing a hat and a long, dark coat. The two-story adobe main building of the mission stands behind him to the right, enclosed by a wrought-iron fence. A rectangular window is visible overhanging the arched doorway. A small cross is affixed at the peak of the shingled roof. The cloisters stand connected to the building, standing to the right. An overhang supported by arches shades the doors which are spaced at even intervals. Two bells hang from a post framework to the extreme right. Compares to: CHS-7275.
