PhotographÂ was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated September 14, 1963 reads, "School bells will ring Monday for Jimmy Skor, 6, of Chatsworth, and thousands of other Valley youngsters as the 1963-1964 school year begins. But Jimmy will be attending one of the Valley's two new schools, Germain Street Elementary School in Chatsworth. Jimmy, a first grader, is shown with his mother, Mrs. James Skor, preregistering for the fall semester at the new $714,397 school, which is the only elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified District to have air conditioning. Some 350 youngsters are expected to enroll at the new facility at 20730 Germain St."
