Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated March 21, 1955 reads "Gypsy, black stallion trained in Pacoima, is honored as top animal picture star and thereby wins annual Patsy award at Devonshire Downs. Congratulating winner is Actress Donna Cochran (sic), holding cartoon character Wood Woodpecker." Donna Corcoran appeared in the film "Gypsy Colt" with the horse in 1954. Devonshire Downs was a horse racing track and multipurpose facility in Northridge.
