Photograph caption dated October 17, 1961 reads "Party chairmen look for gold. Dr. and Mrs. John Mebane planned event." The article partially reads "At Gold Rush Dinner Dance of the Valley District Woman's Auxiliary to the Los Angeles County Medical Association, gold nuggets were deposited in Nurse Scholarship Fund for Valley high school students interested in nursing. Dr. and Mrs. George Campion were hosts in their Sherman Oaks home for Western style fete, at which Mrs. Harry Kaye, district president, welcomed guests."; See images #00146769 through #00146771 for all photos in this series.
