Army major and right-wing politician Roberto D'Aubuisson speaks with CBS news correspondent Diane Sawyer during a brief lull in an interview for CBS's morning news show atop the Hotel Camino Real in San Salvador. In 1993, a report published by the United Nations Commission on the Truth for El Salvador established that it was Roberto D'Aubuisson Arrieta who gave the order to assassinate Archbishop Óscar Arnulfo Romero in 1980. Richard Cross took this image in 1982 while covering the presidential election and War of Liberation in El Salvador.
