Description
Photograph of an all-women parade float with a pirate theme at Plaza Park at 920 I St (known today as Cesar Chavez Plaza). Created in 1872 Plaza Park reflects a renewed investment in Sacramento’s infrastructure after the floods of 1861 and 1862. Since it’s inception the park became a popular location to hold events and parades, often a stop for many parades in downtown Sacramento. The old city hall is seen in the background. Taken circa 1946.
