Description
Scrapbook/photo album created by the San Jose Exchange Club to document the organization's activities from 1951-1953. Includes joint meeting at Rickey's (September 13, 1951); Sadie Hawkins "Dogpatch" Dance (L'il Abner characters, September 29, 1951); Family Picnic, c. 1952); letter to wives of new members re the women's auxiliary, "Exchangettes" (September 2, 1952); 1952 Convention at Catalina Island; Annual Bar-B-Que and Dance (1953); Dance of the Fall "Sin in the Yukon" (November 8, 1952); Traffic Safety program (February 1953); Model Airplane Meet (September 28, 1952). (Note that one of the attendees at the "Sin in the Yukon" dance appears to be dressed as a caricature of a Chinese man, in "yellowface.") One of 15 scrapbooks created by the Exchange Club of San Jose documenting the organization's community service projects in the 1950s.
