Description
A portrait of Ruth Boericke White (left) with her mother Kate Fay Boericke at Kate's Union Street apartment in San Francisco. Ruth was married to Ralston White of Mill Valley at the time of this photo. Ruth would later marry Dr. Robert C. Bowie, a homeopathic doctor, in 1955, 12 years after Ralston died. Kate was a widow of Dr. William Boericke, a homeopathic doctor who died in 1929. Kate would die on December 22, 1933, just a month after this portrait. Kate was the grandmother of Laurence M. Symmes, Jr. and Jean Symmes Barnard, both of Mill Valley, California.
