Description
Anne Rice discusses her novel, “The Vampire Lestat.” Rice begins by discussing the plot of the novel, which chronicles the life of the vampire Lestat; a character that was first introduced in Rice’s book “Interview with the Vampire.” She goes on to discuss her writing process and how she first started writing about vampires. Rice explains how growing up Catholic in New Orleans has effected both her and her writing. In this interview she also shares memories of her childhood and growing up with artistic parents. Towards the end of the interview Rice discusses the death of her young daughter and how it has influenced her work.
