In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
Four employees of Robinson Helicopter Company prepare an R44 helicopter for painting in one of the plant's facilities at the Torrance Airport.
