Description
Harold J. Leavitt discusses his book, “Top Down.” He begins by explaining that he is a professor at the Stanford Business School. He says that this book was written for a middle manager who leads other people but who still answers to a higher authority. He describes start-up companies with connective leadership and how these companies do with little hierarchy. He gives the example of how the Apple company employees had to change as the company grew and expanded. Leavitt discusses how spontaneous projects and crises can bring people together. He ends the interview by talking about the difference between leadership and authority.
