Photograph caption dated February 6, 1959 reads, "Penney opening in Granada Hills - Simple, yet impressive, ribbon-cutting ceremonies marked the opening of the J. C. Penney store at Granada Hills. Among prominent civic leaders and store officials participating in the event were, left to right, Murray Jensen, president, Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce; Rex Stage, manager; Sandy Doling, comely Miss Granada Hills, and George Kinsey, developer of the business site where the store stands." This store, located at 16830 Devonshire St., has since been demolished and replaced with a multiplex.
