An integral part of forest fire prevention is dependent on up-to-the-minute knowledge of weather conditions in a given area. Bob Helfman, 28, a UCLA graduate in meteorology, explains the functions of the "weather-fax" machine which brings forecast information from Suitland, Md. Photo dated: December 10, 1966.
