Title supplied by cataloger. Opened as a barbecue restaurant by entertainer Dave Chasen in 1936, Chasen's was a popular destination for Hollywood's finest, many of whom had booths named after them. For years, this was "the" place for Academy Awards parties and to enjoy Chasen's famous chili. After the restaurant closed in April 1995, the building was used for private parties under the business name of "Chasen's Events" and as a filming location. In the late-1990s the legendary building was partially razed, and soon thereafter, a Bristol Farms grocery store was built in its place. The facade of the building facing Beverly Boulevard was retained and incorporated into the design of the grocery store, and booths from the restaurant are located inside. Interior view of the former Chasen's restaurant, located at 9039 Beverly Boulevard in West Hollywood, showing booths in one of the dining rooms. Photograph dated September, 1999.
